Netizen shares how media twisted a report about Duterte in cutting ties with US: “See the difference! See how a story is twisted.”

Netizen MJ Quiambao Reyes post about her comparison of the headlines of two biggest media network went viral.

In a photo uploaded by Ms. Reyes, she criticized how the ABS-CBN twisted their headline. It reads: “Duterte says goodbye to US ties”.

She said that there’s a big difference between ‘goodbye to US military exercises in the country’and ‘goodbye to US ties’. 

Ms. Reyes cited that they should stop putting words into Duterte’s mouth by exaggerating their headlines.

She also explained what President Duterte said in his speech. That Duterte just wanted the suspension of military exercises but NEVER said he is “cutting ties” with the US.

Ms. Reyes said Duterte wants both US and China for the beneficial and welfare of his countrymen. [source]

ABS CBN, san nyo naman nakuha yang “Duterte says goodbye to US ties”? Goodbye to US ties? Agad agad? Saang parte ng speech nyo yan nakuha, sige nga?

Malaki po ang pagkakaiba ng ‘goodbye to US military exercises in the country’ sa ‘goodbye to US ties’.

Please refrain from putting words into Duterte’s mouth. Ayusin nyo yang headline nyo. Why the need to exaggerate?

Malinaw na malinaw naman po ang sinabi ng Pangulo sa kanyang talumpati. No new military alliances. No breaking of old alliance. Ayaw nya ng giyera. He simply mentioned about the suspension of military exercises and uttered a few “tamporurot” lines but he NEVER said he is “cutting ties”.

For the life of me, what can’t some journos & haters understand? Mga teh, mahirap bang maintindihan that the President only wants to get the most from both US & China–all for the welfare of his countrymen.
