Most people take their blessings for granted. Sometimes, we get so caught up in trivial problems in our life that we forget just how incredibly lucky we are. Every now and then, there’s a bitter reminder that will show us just how privileged we are, and how thankful we should be.

On Facebook, a concerned citizen named Ienstien Hortal shared the story of JM, a 16-year-old who lives on the streets. JM’s story quickly gained attention on social media because many people were moved by his struggles.

According to Hortal, he was eating in a convenience store in Sampaloc, Tanay, when a teenage boy caught his attention. After observing him for a few minutes, Hortal was shocked after seeing the boy eating a carton! Curious about his situation, the concerned citizen decided to approach the boy.

The boy introduced himself as John Mark Sta. Ana. According to him, he has no money to buy food, which is why he’s been eating the carton at the convenience store. What’s even more heartbreaking is the fact that he has been scraping away this carton for almost a week.

When asked if he’s studying, JM revealed that he was about to graduate from elementary. However, his older brother threw away his personal belongings. Ever since JM was forced to roam the streets and just pick on leftovers and even carton just to get by.

In hopes of changing his dire situation, JM expressed his desire to continue his education. This might soon become a reality, as many netizens are offering their help to the hopeful teen. On social media, many people are expressing their eagerness to help JM out of his situation.
