The illustrious CS:GO Major is heading to Brazil and South America for the first time. The IEM Rio Major is set to take place from Oct. 31 to Nov. 13, ESL Gaming announced. The Champions Stage will have a live crowd at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Rio Major will follow the same format as other recent Majors, with regional RMR events determining the Legends, Challengers, and Contenders. Sixteen Challengers and Contenders will meet first in the Challengers Stage, with eight teams moving on to join the Legends in the Legends Stage, followed by an eight-team single-elimination bracket in the Champions Stage. The event will feature a $1 million prize pool.
